The College of Business Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha has a new program, the CBA Scholars Academy, that may be of interest to high school seniors and juniors as they are making decisions on where to pursue their higher education. This new program is starting in fall 2015, and we are recruiting high-achieving and ambitious high school seniors seeking unique collegiate opportunities within a business school. Through rigorous academic work, strong connections to local businesses, and a broadened worldview through travel abroad and community service, Academy Scholars will receive a unique experience that will prepare them to be the business leaders of tomorrow. Many classes in a variety of business topics will be reserved for students in the Academy, allowing those who excel in the classroom to challenge each other. Students will also have streamlined access to professionals in the business community through monthly mentorship programs, corporate visits, workshops, and internships. Twenty students will be competitively selected for the Scholars Academy each year, with the first cohort admitted for fall 2015. All students in the program will receive at minimum a $2,500 scholarship each academic year (for four years) and a one-time $2,000 scholarship to study abroad; these scholarships are stackable with most other scholarships available through UNO and CBA. The application for the program is on our website; the priority deadline is December 15 and the final deadline is February 1. If you have questions or would like any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact Bethany Hughes, Director of the CBA Scholars Academy, at 402-554-3192 or [email protected]. |
